This position is in Salary Grade 416, with a minimum starting wage of $18.95 per hour, and is eligible for full-time College benefits. The successful candidate’s wage will be based on education and experience.

General Description

The purpose of this position is to build a positive community within the Residence Halls. Specifically, serves as an on-campus resource for the residents, implements student and community development programs, increases student involvement, and focuses on academic performance. The Residence Hall Coordinator will provide supervision and assistance to the RA/SA team, ensures building security and policy enforcement, and assists with the daily responsibilities of the Residence Life department. This is accomplished by meeting with students regularly, supervising the RA/SA Team and assisting with community and student development. The position will perform on-call duties, and works with leadership advisors to create leadership training programs, and facilitates long and short term goals. Attends meetings on campus, and performs administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications: Education

A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in student development, education or human services. Applicants who do not meet the degree requirement will only be hired conditioned on obtainment of Bachelor’s degree.

Qualification:Experience

Campus life or advisement experience preferred; student/peer advisement, peer mediation, or supervision experience helpful.

Qualification:Skills

Must be self-motivated and work well with young adults, college staff, and as part of a team. Must be able to plan and execute long-term goals and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

Special Instructions to Applicants

An apartment in the residence halls is provided as well as all utilities, local telephone and basic cable television, wireless internet access, full meal plan, plus an annual salary with approved fringe benefits allowed all full-time college staff.
