Northeast Community College located in Norfolk, Nebraska and an Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence 2017 Top 10 School is seeking a leader in enterprise Linux systems administration to work in our award winning Technology Services Division.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline preferred; relevant work experience may be substituted.
Minimum 3 years Linux Administration (preferably RedHat/CentOS) required; 5 years is preferred. Demonstrated Bash scripting experience is expected.
Working knowledge of Windows Server Administration, Cisco networking, security, firewalls, remote access.
Experience installing, configuring and administering: Oracle, Apache, SQL and basic Active Directory knowledge is preferred.
Knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration; enterprise backup and recovery procedures; VMware, HP 3PAR/EVA SAN and iSCSI storage administration; system performance monitoring proficiency; Bash, Apache and Oracle/SQL database experience.
Ability to plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures; communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility with functional and technical team members; perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.

Northeast Community College is seeking to fill a key technical position within our Network and Infrastructure department. We have a wide variety of technologies in use and many exciting initiatives that we need your help with.
Pursue your passion for Linux Administration while working in a multi-site VMware/SAN environment. You will also have opportunities to work with Oracle, Windows 2008 and later Servers, Active Directory, SQL Server and Cisco networking technologies.
