General Description

Northeast Community College located in Norfolk, Nebraska and an Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence 2017 Top 10 School is seeking a strategic leader in analytics and institutional research to work in our award-winning Technology Services Division.

The Executive Director of Analytics will lead a team of data scientists to define, manage, and implement a data strategy roadmap to support the College’s needs while enhancing business decision-making processes and driving productivity efforts. This role will serve as the College’s Chief Data Officer and require experience in business intelligence, advanced analytics as well as experience in working with big data sets and statistical analysis. This is a cross-functional role that will collaborate with the President’s Office, Institutional Effectiveness, Student Services, Educational Services, Technology Services, Human Resources, Administrative Services, Advancement and External Affairs, and our Center for Enterprise to create, execute, and manage a portfolio of analytic tools that will support strategic decisions and growth within higher education.

Qualifications: Education

Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Digital Marketing, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business (with quantitative emphasis) or related discipline preferred; relevant work experience may be substituted.

Qualification:Experience

Proven record of accomplishment and leadership in the profession.

5+ years in roles that involved various statistical/analytical techniques.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with data governance.

Experience directing research and analytics projects both large and small.

Experience leading change, developing innovations in data science, analytics, and research, and associated methodologies and technologies.

Experience building partnerships and influencing stakeholders and decision-makers to achieve desired outcomes.

Experience with the industry and stakeholders of higher education.

Proven experience supervising cross-functional teams.

Strong knowledge of one or more analytics disciplines including CRM, Predictive Modeling, Marketing Mix Modeling and Attribution, Business Intelligence & Data Warehousing.

Extensive digital expertise including digital measurement and associated data and technology platforms.

Developing data strategies (e.g. what we should capture, how we should capture it, and the triggers/decisions as a result, etc.)

Qualification:Skills

Demonstrated leadership with the ability to turn vision into action, creating an environment to motivate others to achieve goals and follow through on decisions.

Ability to think strategically.

Experience designing KPI’s and campaign measurement strategies.

Hands-on experience with digital tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Coremetrics, SPSS, Cognos, Tableau, Microsoft Power Bi, Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services, etc.

Articulate with an ability to be an analytics and numbers translator.

Strong quantitative and qualitative skills.

Experience developing and designing programs and services; design-thinking.

Ability to lead projects and manage large portfolios of work.

Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, staff, and customers.

Excellent ability to communicate complex technical material, communicates clearly and effectively, inspires and motivates others.

Strong understanding in statistical analysis with abilities in advanced data management and statistical programming.

Ability to drive the use of analytics forward thinking across the organization.

Strong writing and editing skills.
