Salary and Benefits

This position is in Salary Grade 212, with a minimum salary of $17.09 per hour. The successful candidate’s salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range. This position is eligible for full-time fringe benefits package.

General Description

The purpose of this position is to maintain all air conditioning, heating, and ventilation equipment on campus facilities. This is accomplished by completing air conditioning repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and completing air conditioning or heating system replacement. Other duties include removing snow,overseeing summer employees, performing field engineering of equipment, being involved in College Committees and performing other duties as assigned. This position will primarily serve the residence halls on campus. This position will have a regular work schedule of 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Qualifications: Education

Associate of Applied Science Degree in HVAC or Industrial Maintenance preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.


A minimum of 5 years experience required for applicants meeting the Associate Degree education requirement.

A minimum of 9 years experience required for applicants meeting the high school diploma or equivalent requirement.


Requires knowledge of methods, practices, and the proper and safe use of all tools, equipment and materials; knowledge of methods and safe practices pertaining to cutting and threading pipe, soldering, brazing, and welding; and knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautionary methods involved in building maintenance, repair and construction activities. Requires ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with the general public and a diverse staff and student population; and ability to work successfully with other employees to perform other duties and conform to deadlines.
